Our Testing Services
We offer a full range of drug and alcohol testing methods to meet court, employment, DOT, and personal testing needs.
Urine Drug Testing (UA Panels)
Urine drug screens (urinalysis/UA) are the most common form of drug testing. We offer standard and customizable panels based on client requirements.
Common Panel Options:
- 5-Panel (marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, PCP)
- 10-Panel (adds benzodiazepines, barbiturates, methadone, and more)
- Expanded panels for prescription medications, synthetic drugs, or specialty substances
Detection Window: Generally 2–4 days for most substances (varies by frequency of use and metabolism).
Oral Fluid (Mouth Swab) Testing
Oral fluid testing is a non-invasive alternative to urine testing. It detects recent drug use and is harder to adulterate.
Benefits:
- Quick collection process
- Observed collection without privacy concerns
- Detects very recent use (within hours to 1–2 days)
Detection Window: Typically 24–48 hours.
Hair Follicle Testing
Hair testing provides a longer detection window, making it ideal for identifying patterns of use over weeks or months.
What to Know:
- Detects drug use up to 90 days (sometimes longer)
- Difficult to tamper with
- Typically requires lab processing (longer turnaround time)
Detection Window: Up to 90 days or more.
Breath Alcohol Testing
Breath alcohol testing (breathalyzer) provides immediate, real-time measurement of blood alcohol content (BAC).
Uses:
- DUI monitoring and probation compliance
- Pre-shift testing for DOT or safety-sensitive positions
- Post-accident or reasonable suspicion scenarios
Detection Window: Detects current intoxication (alcohol dissipates quickly from the system).
What We Don't Do
Colorado Health Services does not perform the following:
- Blood draws or blood-based testing
- Medical exams or physicals
- STD or DNA testing
Our focus is on drug and alcohol screening and compliance reporting. For services outside our scope, we’re happy to provide referrals if needed.
Compliance & Chain of Custody
All of our testing services follow strict chain-of-custody protocols to ensure sample integrity and legal defensibility.
What is Chain of Custody?
A documented process that tracks who handles a sample from collection to final result. This is required for court-ordered testing, employment testing, and DOT compliance.
Our Standards:
- All specimens are labeled and documented in real time
- Samples are sealed and tamper-evident
- Results are verified and reported according to client requirements
